IPX1 and IPX2
Vertically Falling Water Drops and Vertically Falling Water Drops Device at up to 15° Inclination
IPX1 indicates that the device can resist vertically falling water, such as light rain, without any harmful effects. The test is performed by exposing the device to a steady vertical water flow for 10 minutes. IPX2 goes a step further, ensuring the device can withstand water splashes from up to a 15-degree tilt in any direction. This test involves spraying water at the device for a duration of 10 minutes while maintaining the specified angle. These tests are crucial for products used in environments where water exposure is likely, such as outdoor electronics, medical devices, automotive components, and industrial equipment.
